1. Our lives belong to Christ and his instruction is to teach all nations. (1 Corinthians 6:19, Matthew 28:19). We cannot escape the responsibility of this without taking action. The question that remains then is this: what action is best to take to fulfil our mandate.
People talk about reaching India for Christ. But reaching India is NOT the same as reaching English speakers in towns. This is because around 70% of the Indian population lives in rural areas – outside the towns. Most of these people do not speak English, but only local languages or possibly just a local dialect.
Even in the towns and cities, there are still LOTS of people who do not speak English. We can reach some but not all of the Indian city dwellers using the English language.

Since we started in April 2005, we never shared the vision of our channel with our viewers on TV. Instead we spent a lot of time sharing the vision with people who could not view the channel.
India is a huge nation will multitudes of unreached peoples of many different languages and religions. The majority of the population of India believes in Hinduism, but there is also a very large muslim population.
About 3% of the population would identify themselves as Christian. These includes all nominal Christians who have no living experience of Christ. Most Christians live in the South of India.
Freedom of religion is guaranteed by the Consitution of India. However, in some states of this country, the Gospel is not allowed to be preached as the State Governments have brought in anti-conversion bills. These bills always seem to be used to forbid people to become Christians or to suppress Christian missionary activity. They are not used to stop radical Hindus from using violence, threats or material inducements to reconvert people back to Hinduism, a common practice in certain areas. Violence against Christians is common in North India and in parts of Karnataka, like Udupi.
We envisage the establishment of local Christian cable TV channels in every city and town in India and beyond which will bring the revelation of Jesus Christ as fully as possible to as many as possible. These channels will broadcast local content in local languages wherever possible, thus enabling as many people as possible to UNDERSTAND the message. Jesus taught that when the message of the Word is not understood immediately the evil one comes and steals the Word. So clear communication in languages that are well-understood is a MUST.
Our vision is that these channels be used by God to promote local church growth in every place, both numerically and in terms of the promotion of the personal spiritual growth of our viewers. Therefore each channel should therefore develop its own production team to produce relevant content from the local area. This content should contain plenty of LOCAL testimonies, as well as messages from local preachers.
To use television and multimedia technologies to effectively communicate to as many as possible the things that will prepare them for time and eternity, and then to teach and train other believers how to use media to do the same.
To be part of the fulfillment of the Scripture, “the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of the Lord” (Hab. 2:14), by producing and showing the most powerful Christian testimonies we can find.
To serve the local church in every place we reach by creating an effective platform for reaching out to the local community, with a view to the spiritual and numerical growth of the people of God everywhere.
New Hope TV is a 24 hour Christian Television Network in India with local channels currently being telecasted in the cities of Bangalore and Mumbai. We have a potential viewership of over 3 million people (around 6,50,000 homes). We reach people from different religions, languages and of all age groups with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
